THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW…
Racing is organised, on behalf of the Dabchicks Sailing Club and the West Mersea Yacht Club, by a Committee comprising of members from both Clubs
Race Officers / Committee Boats.
Smacks and Cruisers: Brian Bolton / Blue Horizon (Dufour 38)
MFOBs and Dinghies: Peter Fitt / Centenary (Mitchell 31)
Race Office. This is located in the Long Room of the WMYC and will be open from 08.30 every day. Late entries (along with the relevant late entry fee) will be accepted there up to 09.00. Laminated Course cards will be available in your event pack
Class Details. Lists of all competitors by Class will be available at WMYC from between 1800 and 1900 on Saturday 19th August and from 0830 on Sunday 20th August.
Race Results. Copies of the results will be available at the DSC and WMYC and on Mersea Weeks website following each prize-giving.
Club Facilities. All competitors are welcome to use the facilities of both Clubs throughout the week. Changing and shower facilities are available, together with bar service and catering.
Social Events. Events are organised throughout the week; please see the DSC and WMYC Social Programmes for details.
Car Parking. This is limited on the waterfront, so if you can arrange car sharing, please do. Car parks are now Pay & Display.
Shopping. There are several food shops on the Island; they can be found about a 20 minute walk from the WMYC. Directions can be obtained from the Race Office.
Breakfast. Breakfast will be available from the Blackwater Pearl, just along from WMYC on Coast Road.
Launches. The launch service is provided by WMYC and Peter Clark’s Boatyard, and will run from 08.30 each day. To comply with their licences, the launches carry a maximum of 12 passengers – to help in peak periods, please allow plenty of time to get to your boats, and gather all crew members together to minimise the need for return journeys.
Moorings. Limited Moorings will be available free of charge for visiting yachts provided a 2017 Mersea Week pennant is flown.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the water, and of course – in the bar.
PLEASE BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!
